Description: The Air Dominance Block Upgrade and Affordability Senior Manager will report to the Program Director, Air Dominance. The successful candidate will lead the Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) Block Upgrade program for a corporate focus, major air dominance program and the highest-priority Air Warfare need for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. In this role, the Senior Manager will be responsible for: - Developing a P3I Block Upgrade approach to keep a core air dominance capability ahead of the changing operational threat (to keep the program sold), integrating affordability into the Block Upgrades, and accounting for Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortage (DMSMS) solutions in the Block Upgrade strategy. - Responsible for proposal management for proposals averaging $100M annually - Air Dominance IRAD execution and leadership of PIs in support of future business opportunities (to include the Block Upgrades) - Initiating a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) strategy - Leading a cross functional team and one direct report to identify, set-up, and follow-through with affordability and cost avoidance initiatives to include long-term pricing agreements with sub-contractors, Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECPs), production process improvements at MFC-s Ocala, Troy and Dallas production facilities, identifying production and process improvements at sub-contractor facilities, identifying process improvements in Orlando, etc. - This activity will cover both development and future production within the respective programs. The Senior Manager must be able to work with Operations Analysis to identify future air dominance threats, build a technology roadmap to meet customer requirements, as well as a strategy to resolve both capability, affordability, and DMSMS needs within each block upgrade to increase the competitiveness of the Air Dominance Weapons Systems Line of Business (LoB). The Senior Manger must be versed in leading cross-functional teams, dealing with ambiguity, comfortable in the development environment, making risk-based decisions, well versed in EVMS, EPRS, conflict resolution, customer relations, DoD acquisition processes, and communication and leadership skills. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to lead multi-functional teams. Basic Qualifications: - MUST be a US Citizen and currently hold an Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance with a closed investigation (or re-investigation) within 6 years. - Leadership of cross functional teams with responsibility for quality, technical, schedule, and cost performance. - Experience working with control suppliers and subcontract management. - Strong problem solving skills. - Experience in risk identification and management. - Familiarity with DMSMS. - Strong communication skills and experience in establishing strong customer relationships. Desired Skills: - Experience working with Lockheed Martin, Missiles & Fire Control suppliers and subcontract management. - Familiarity with highly-complex, schedule driven development programs, and risk management. - A technical degree is highly desired.
